fun

spent a ton of time trying to fight through the really, really difficult yet addicting levels. this is a very challenging game and you'll need quick reactions and a smart selection of upgrades to beat the stages.

bad things about the game is that it has a really slow-going pace in the beginning. it becomes a bit repetitive and it's hard to earn cash for upgrades.
HINT: you can't earn a lot of money by replaying levels but you CAN get some if you beat the levels with a higher score.

i'd like to see a difficulty level setting and more upgrades. perhaps the enemies could give more money when they're killed also? just some suggestions.

refine it and bring it back as a full-blown flash.

you might have something unique here, but like the "author comments" says, this is an experimental work. before submitting it to a general audience, i'd like it if you worked on it a bit more and polished it up. i didn't understand what this was about, even though the description said it's supposed to be for interactive storytelling.

i see a potentially good game/flash here, but as of now, it's all a jumble to me. there's no storyline as far as i can see (i tried to piece together some kind of story from the pictures and it didn't really work), only somber, repetitive music, and random pictures drowned out in different colours.

a horrible horror game

gotta agree with flashfan2000. i got so frustrated with the game that i quit after "escaping from albatros" (a horrible play on "alcatraz" by the way). the controls are too stiff and buggy. if you switch rooms, some of you may find that you won't be able to move in certain directions for a few seconds. i killed some zombies with a grenade and 2 of them were left standing there, unable to move or do any damage.

the graphics were alright. in fact, the graphics and drawings were probably the only good part of this game. the sound effects weren't worth squat, the game was buggy, and why is my partner-in-arms so stupid? every time she died, i lost. ridiculous.

the weapons are horrible. i'd like to ask one question before i list the crap weapons that i played with in order- why can't you reload in the middle of a mag? would it have been that hard to make R as a reload button? =_=

knife- if you try to swing at the zombies with your knife, you'll find that your knife's range is about the same as the zombies' arm-reach, rendering this melee weapon useless. too bad it's the only thing you start off with.

pistol- the pistol sucks. once i realized how pathetic this weapon was, i decided to just ignore all the zombies and run past them instead of fighting (pointless to stay and fight because they just eat up your ammo and are endless in some rooms).

automatic rifle- i'd been running past walls full of shotguns and rifles and when i finally picked this up, i thought the game was going to get easier. not so. you run out of bullets too quickly because the zombies still drop more pistol ammo than rifle ammo and if you stay in one spot for too long, the zombies still rush you and you die.

grenade- the best weapon i had before i quit, hands down. just time it right and you can blow most zombies to smithereens with one of these.

now on to the plot- it was one of those way too over-used "evil scientist trying to take over the world but horribly phails and gets his ass handed to him and now you have to save the world" stories. the dialogue was cheesy, but the obvious plot devices such as the girl partner, prison (and prison name), and the conveniently available dynamite in the clutches of a dead prison guard all made me chuckle. so +1 point for humour i guess.

so.. the grand point total:
start with 10 points

ridiculous bugs: -1
stupid controls: -2
crap weapons: -2
stupid partner AI that made me lose 7 times: -2
overall player weakness and design: -2
shit sound: -2
good art: +2
stupid plot devices (they made me laugh and i'm a man of my word so i'll be generous here): +1

total: +2

alright game

but please fix the bug that makes you get stuck on the top of the screen if you stray too far up. i've noticed this in multiple levels. maybe it's just a firefox compatibility problem but it gets on my nerves.

good time killer, funny graphics and death, simple design - +10
clumsy control that don't let you aim except for a few inches above your character's head- -2
a bit repetitive but meh, it's a flash game- -0.5

overall 7.5 and i'll round up

i'd love to play this game again after it's been fixed up a bit. :)

madness...

what an adventure hahaha. i liked how you paid close attention to details. your artwork was superb and the levels were well designed. the different backgrounds were a genius idea. it was good to see fresh ideas in newgrounds for once.

is it just me or was this a total stoner game? even the character looks faded. maybe it's just me being weird :P

pretty good actually

haven't played a clicking adventure game for a while haha. hmm.

i'm a cold-hearted survivor. :D

wow...

i beat the game on my 4th try... i died 3 times on that part between the 2nd and 3rd level where the worm miniboss pops out. the sad thing is, i didn't die because of the boss. i died because those TINY insects that drop from the ceiling took away a THIRD of my health every time they hit me.

ok now for the review:

i know everyone's been saying this but lemme repeat. YOU NEED SAVE POINTS IN THIS GAME. adding upgrades that make your character's HP go up would be great too (if "power" is what does that, how come i still lost so much life from those dropping rolliepollies of death?). you should also include info that clearly states what kind of weapon you end up with if you max out stats such as charge, accuracy, and power. do the same for character stats too. a downgrading feature would be a ton of help for most casual gamers also.

i thought the strongest point of this game was the artwork in the opening and ending. the intro video impressed me and i loved the delicate cel-shading and attention to detail that went into the animation. the actual game's art was a lot simpler but i thought that was good for people who might have slower computers.

the holographic projection soldier thing was awesome so you get kudos for creativity (i still don't understand how a hologram can do actual damage but oh well :D). the leveling system was ok, but having the ability to buy more weapons rather than only upgrading the ones you have would have been nice. for example, the single-shot mode was just a dead weight. also, a rocket launcher and THROWABLE grenades would have been nice, too. just some suggestions, mind you.

the enemies were... eh. ok, i guess. i couldn't help but notice how many of them were the same ones from the 1st game but since it's a sequel i guess there's nothing wrong with that. the jumping ball bugs added challenge to the game so i liked them especially. i still think it's ridiculous how those tiny ass critters dropping from the ceiling can do almost as much as a boss. =.=;;

not much else to say besides "GOOD JOB!"

lol

religious theme aside, it was an awesome game. the drawings were good for a flash game but one thing that bothered me was the part where i was playing as amy while trying to free ira. just that one scene where ira's hands are cuffed behind her. there was this big purple thing where her butt should have been and i was like "wtf her crack is the size of her arm. lol."

i didn't like the "shotgun extravaganza" minigame because reloading was a bitch and the shotgun didn't kill multiple targets even when they were grouped up so a 9/10 :)
